“How does the syndicate work?”
Oil suppliers will offer a discount if they can make several deliveries at the same location on the same day. They save on mileage and their driver’s time.
To qualify for a discount we need to order 10,000 litres or more. A small tanker carries 17,000 litres and a full load will give the best price. The biggest advantage will be for people who order relatively small quantities, say 600 -1,000 litres. They normally pay a premium for small deliveries, but will qualify for the “large delivery” discount and may save between 2 & 3p per litre, typically £25 on 1,000 L..

Add your name to the list. When the total order reaches about 10,000 litres, the delivery can be requested. If you miss this delivery your name goes to the top of the next list. PLEASE NOTE: Oil will be delivered at short notice. Do not add your name if you are not committed to receive oil. If you no longer need oil PLEASE LET ME KNOW! (This scheme is for Cilcain only, minimum order 500 litres).
“Who will organise the list?”
I will arrange one bulk delivery in July/ August each year. If you wish to arrange a delivery at some other time, you can contact the people on this list and when you have a total of 10,000 litres + negotiate the best price and place the order.
“Who will the oil be bought from?”
The oil suppliers on the list have all agreed to give a discount for bulk delivery (10,000 litres +). The person ordering will check for the best price on the day. (Be careful that VAT in include in the price).
“What grade of oil will be delivered?”
This scheme is aimed at the most common grade, i.e. 28 sec. kerosene.
“How will payment be made?”
Each individual will be responsible for their own payment. Wirral & Cunnah’s require payment on the day. Customers who will not be in for the delivery will need to supply direct debit details (Switch) to the supplier in advance or leave a cheque. To avoid embarrassment, please ensure YOU pay promptly.
“Good for the environment?”
As well as saving yourself up to £35, you will be helping the environment by reducing the total mileage travelled by the tanker.
